What is the Opportunity Card?

The Opportunity Card has been in effect since 1 June 2024. It allows you to look for a job in Germany for up to one year or to pursue recognition measures for your qualifications.

Requirement: higher education degree, vocational qualification of at least 2 years or AHK qualification, plus German A1 OR English B2.

  • Foreign vocational qualification with ZAB certificate (training of at least 2 years) or notice of partial recognition / deficit notice
  • Higher education degree with anabin printout or ZAB statement of comparability
